Ronda from the Market House was so excited to show off the shirt she made during one of our house-led craft nights. She had so much pride showing it off! It is always fun to see someone so proud of something they made.
What to do on a rainy day? Patricia, Ronda, and Sydney spent a day out at the Science Center. After exploring they finished off the experience with a team building brain game. Ronda, Delanie (staff), and Sydney stopped for a picture in front of the dinosaur. It is so important to get out of the house!
Volunteer Giovanni came to the house with pieces of cloth for the women to dye. Ronda and Giovanni proudly showed off their Cyanotypes. Giovanni came to the house with pieces of clothes for the women to dye. The ladies found things in the yard or things in their rooms to place on the fabric so the sun could dye them.
We also took a trip to the Botanical Garden. We like to try and get to MOBOT at least once a season during their free walking hours on Wednesday mornings. Patricia enjoyed the gardens, and Lemond stopped to smell nearly every flower. He got a lot of steps in too.
One of the biggest celebrations this summer was for Robert from the Utah House. After years of not being able to eat many solids, he finally has some pearly whites to munch with!
Another big accomplishment was Steve getting his own apartment. After living with Assisi House for many years, Steve was finally able to move out on his own. Everything was furnished by Home Sweet Home. We are so happy for him.
Sometimes the best days are the simple ones. Miss Jackie grilled ribs for the ladies at the Market House. Cig in her mouth, ribs on the grill, sun in the sky, a good day had by all.
