Assisi House’s mission is to house previously unhoused individuals in small, communal settings where
each person is treated with dignity and respect.
Assisi House is founded on the principle that each individual is of infinite value, and deserves the opportunity to live in a place where they have respite from the devastating effects of being unhoused.
Assisi House approaches this mission in a manner that is both cost-effective and humane. By avoiding government funding and by keeping our houses small, we can be very flexible in addressing our residents’ needs and very supportive in building communities within our houses.
We keep people safe and warm throughout the winter months (November-March) after first opening each of our homes.
We create stable, year-round housing to lay a foundation for our residents' transition into permanent housing.
We provide residents with meaningful relationships along with access to resources and other services to help facilitate the end to their homelessness.
